1st Birthday Gift Guide: Top Toys for Growing Minds
Hello & welcome wonderful families to the latest edition of your go-to resource for nurturing the minds and hearts of the littles ones in your care. Whether you're a parent or childcarer dedicated to their growth and development, this newsletter is designed with you in mind.
Is your little one's first birthday approaching or is your friend's little one or member of your family turning one soon? The first birthday is such a special milestone, and finding the right gift can be both fun and challenging. Whether you're a parent, aunt, uncle, godparent or close family friend, choosing the perfect toy for a growing toddler can leave a lasting impression.
To help you pick something that's not only fun, but also developmentally enriching and will last beyond that first year, I've put together a list of the top picks that are sure to delight any 1 year old.
1. Stacking Cups
2. Schleich Animals
These animals are great for language learning because they are very realistic compared to some cheaper alternatives. Teach your little one the animal names and noises they make and they'll still be using them for many years to come in their small world play.
3. Playmobil 123 Bus
This little bus is great fun, your little one will love pulling the people out of the bus and trying to put them back in and rolling the bus across the floor. As they get older they'll be able to play with the bus using their imagination to create a world of scenarios. I've seen it being used as a rocket, areoplane, school bus, car and taxi!

4. Galt Pop-up Toy
Simple, but so much fun. Pop the little sticks in, push down and watch them fly up again and again. First the sticks will probably mainly something to chew on and your little one will watch as you launch them into the air, but as your child grows they'll first master posting them into the holes and eventually launching them on their own.
5. WheelyBug
This toy is perfect for a baby just learning to walk. With the big handle to hold onto and walk along with it glides over wooden floor surfaces with ease and as the wheels are castors it turns with ease too (often one of the problems with baby walkers - can go forwards easily but not so easy to turn.) Once your little one has mastered walking then it can be used as intended! - A lovely ride on toy.

6. Toddler Photo Book
My final suggestion is to create a personalised photo book for your little one. Include family members, pets, friends and more. An extra special gift that can be tailored to your family - helps your little one learn and recongise family members name and faces, especially if they don't see them very often.
Let's make that first birthday celebration extra special with a gift they'll love!
Warmly, Esther
